In the animal kingdom scents plays a vital part in survival, and fear and aggression are scented as strongly as sex. but what of the human animal? in what lies perfume's power?
recently a lot of publicity has been given to pheromones, the chemical scents signals used by animals and insects to make sexual contact. In some species the effect is quite dramatic. male moths, for instance can track a female a kilometer or so away by her pheromones or airborne hormones.
several attempts have been made to reproduce pheromones artificially - pig breeders, for example have experimented with types of spray-on "instant boar" in the hope of bringing their sows into heat. for some years now the hunt has been on to identify the pheromones in human beings. there is a lot of evidence to show they exist but it seems that they are easily disguised by other smells such as sweat tobacco and alcohol.
a few years ago a cosmetic company launched perfumes for women and aftershave for men containing androsterone, the sex hormone contained in the instant boar spray.
despite all the wishful thinking and a good deal of publicity, however the instant chemistry failed to materialize when the products were worn.
It seems that bottling a sexual scent signal for humans is still as elusive as finding an elixir of youth - though some advertisements like to perpetuate the fantasy that your scent can drive the opposite sex wild. this may be exaggeration but it cannot be denied that scents excite and stimulate the imagination.
as kipling wrote "scents are surer than sights and sound to make the heartstrings crack".
So what turns you on?

Scents and smell
Scents pervade our every waking hour in daily life. we surround ourselves with scented toiletries and cosmetics. we clean our homes with fragrant creams and sprays.
we wash our clothes in scented detergents and softeners and frantically deodorize the natural smells of our bodies and yet most of us the words "perfumes and scents" still have a magic ring, denoting an expensive luxury to be worn only on special occasions.
sensual and evocative, there's nothing quite like the joy of spraying a haze of perfume and walking into the haze, or receiving a gift of perfume from a lover or special friend, and that's not new - through out history, perfumes made from the finest ingredients has been used to mark momentous events.
why not give your loved one something to remember....

Benefits of using perfumes

Feeling a Bit Blue – Perfumes boost mood. So next time you feel a bit blue, dab on few drops of your favorite perfume and enjoy its aromatherapy benefits. It will not only relieve stress and ease your mind, but will also boost your energy level and make you more alert. Consequently, you’ll be more productive regardless of whether you’re working on an important company campaign or spring cleaning your home.
Boost Your Confidence – It’s been proven that perfumes boost your confidence. When you smell good, you feel good about yourself and ultimately have the confidence to do anything. You get that inner power that puts you in control and helps you tackle any task, difficult or simple. Therefore, when hesitation kicks in, spray on your signature fragrance and take over the world. Make sure you always carry your favorite perfume with you. If you are low on your fragrance, do not wait to deplete it completely. Instead get a new bottle or browse online for perfume Australia for a new confidence and mood booster.
Increase Attraction – Both men and women mostly rely on their senses for vision, smell and touch when it comes to understanding the world around us. This is particularly true when it comes to choosing a partner. People are, above all, attracted to what they see – physical appearance, but also to the energy another person radiates and the way he/she smells. Perfumes can awaken our senses for sensuality and increase sexual attraction. Thus, chose your fragrances wisely, regardless of whether you’re shopping for mens perfume for your hubby or are looking for new alluring scent for yourself.

Know your Perfume
Many perfumes are blended with notes – such as citrus – which give an initial zing. These evaporate quickly, though, allowing the middle and base notes to become more dominant: they’re heavier and hang around longer. You’ve got to be sure you like all stages of a fragrance’s ‘journey’ before buying it.
